Objetivo
Quando escrevemos um texto de opinião, nosso objetivo é o de convencer. Apresentamos nossa opinião em relação a determinado assunto e desejamos convencer nosso leitor a assumir o mesmo ponto de vista.
Conteúdo
Para que se possa alcançar com êxito esse objetivo, é preciso que o aluno conheça muito bem o tema de que irá tratar. O autor do texto precisa ter dados e informações que justifiquem sua opinião, que possibilitem a ele construir bons argumentos, a favor ou contra o tema abordado.
É importante, portanto, que se levem para a sala de aula textos sobre o assunto (informativos, literários, da mídia etc.) e que se promova, então, um amplo debate. Assim, os alunos podem contribuir com as informações que têm sobre o tema e podem exercitar a prática da argumentação oral, habilidade muito exigida hoje na vida em sociedade e na escola, especificamente.
A escrita de um texto de opinião pressupõe, geralmente, as seguintes etapas de trabalho (não necessariamente nesta ordem):
· tomada de posição em relação ao tema (contra ou a favor);
· justificativa da posição assumida, com base em argumentos;
· antecipação de possíveis argumentos contrários ao seu ponto de vista, contestando-os;
· conclusão do texto, reforçando-se a posição assumida.
Levantados esses pontos, é preciso, também, que se observem dois aspectos fundamentais para a construção da coerência do texto:
· organização dos argumentos;
· ligação entre as diferentes partes do texto (frases, parágrafos; introdução, desenvolvimento e conclusão).

A questão da articulação
Além de todos os aspectos gramaticais relevantes para a escrita de qualquer gênero textual, no texto de opinião é extremamente importante a questão da articulação. Por não se caracterizar como uma lista de argumentos, esse texto pressupõe uma ligação entre suas diferentes partes, encaminhando-o a uma conclusão.

I hope you
had a wonderful weekend with your family and friends. Unit 2 will start in 8
days ( 192 hours)!. In Unit 2 “ Where We Are In Place And Time” we will be
traveling to Greece, Rome, Egypt and other mystery magical places. You can´t imagine
how HAPPY and EXCITED we are to start this Unit. Ms. Patrícia, Ms. Tati, Ms.Ni, Mr. Claudio, Mr. Wilson , Mr. Joao and I are
preparing great surprises and terrific experiences for you to learn and enjoy. This final week will be all about our SHARING

important to share our thoughts and feelings about everything we have worked
on, everything that we have shared together in the past 6 weeks. Therefore, we
should respect and honor this week as our “ REFLECTION WEEK” . It´s key to
celebrate closure, to say goodbye and appreciate the time that we have spent
within our groups (Dolphins, Tigers, Wolves, Hawks, Dogs).
Queridos alunos do Year 4,
Espero que tenham tido um ótimo final de
semana com sua família e amigos. A segunda unidade vai começar em 8 dias (192
horas). A unidade 2 Where We are in Place and Time, nós estaremos viajando para
a Grécia, Roma, Egito e outros lugares misteriosos e mágicos.Voces não imaginam
o quão feliz e animados estamos para começar essa unidade. Ms Patricia, Ms. Tati , Ms. Ni, Mr Wilson, Mr. Claudio, Mr. Joao e eu

É muito importante compartilhar nossos
sentimentos e pensamentos sobre tudo o que foi trabalhado e compartilhado
nessas últimas 6 semanas. Portanto nós deveremos encarar essa semana como um
momento de reflexão. É extremamente importante celebrarmos o fechamento da
unidade, dizermos tchau e apreciar o tempo que nós passamos juntos. ( Dolphins, Hawks, Tigers, Dogs and Wolves)
In 776
B.C.E, about three thousand years ago, the first Olympic Games took place.
Originally, the games were part of a religious festival to honor Zeus. He was
the god of the sky and the leader of the Greek gods who lived on Mount Olympus,
the highest mountain in Greece.
The
Olympics was one of four all-Greek (Pan Hellenic) games. Even though the games
were named after Mount Olympus they weren’t played there. Instead they were
held in the religious sanctuary of Olympia near Greece’s southwest coast. The
land there was beautiful and rich with olive trees.
At the beginning, the games were just
short foot races designed to keep Greek men fit for the intensity of war. The
path for the foot races was about 700 feet long and straight. It was also wide
enough for twenty men to run side by side. Only men who spoke Greek were
allowed to take part in the races.
Men ran the races without any clothes on. Gradually, other events were added
but there were no team sports like in the modern Olympics. Also, there were no
medals like the gold, silver, and bronze medals we have today. There was only
one winner and he was given a wreath of olive leaves as a prize. But these
weren’t just any olive leaves. These olive leaves were taken from a sacred tree
that was located at Olympia behind the temple dedicated to Zeus. To reward his
mastery of the events, a statue was built in the winner’s honor.
The
games were held once every four years in August. Over time other events were
added. Horse races, chariot races, boxing, and wrestling were all popular
events in addition to the foot races. There was also a special event that
consisted of five different sports activities: wrestling, running, the long
jump, disc throwing, and spear throwing.
Interesting
fact:
Married
women were not allowed to attend the Olympics and women weren’t allowed to
compete in any of the events. There was a separate women’s festival that was
called Heraia and was dedicated to the honor of Hera, the wife of Zeus.
The Modern Olympics
The
modern Olympics were started in 1896 by a French educator and historian by the
name of Pierre de Coubertin. Pierre loved sports and felt that the world’s
countries would have more of an opportunity for peace if they gathered together
to play sports. He designed the five color rings that are used to represent the
Olympic Games today. The rings stand for North and South America, Africa, Asia,
Europe, and Australia.
At the
beginning of the games a flame is lit. The flame begins in Olympia and is
passed from torch to torch until the location of the games is reached. The
location changes every time the Olympic games are played.
Today
the Olympic games are the largest sporting event in the world. There are summer
and winter games and over 30 sports are played. Men and women from all over the
world compete to win the gold, bronze, and silver medals.
