Raz Kids Update!

Hi Everyone!

Miss Patricia and I are both excited about next semester.  We are taking our time to make sure we have some fun and challenging projects for you after vacations end!

In the meantime, I have opened up the Book Room for all of you on Raz Kids, as promised.  Please challenge yourself to read some books that you think are difficult, and try to record as many as possible.

Enjoy your break.

Research Topics:  Forms of Expression in Northeast Brazil

Hi students!  So remember, the idea is to pick one of these forms of expression from Brazil and research as much as possible.

  • Take notes as you research
  • Find out about the origin of the form of expression
  • Who participates?
  • Why is it practiced?
  • Has it changed over time?
  • And any other things you find interesting!
Bring your information, including photos or artifacts if you would like!

Help with Math!

Hi Parents and Students!

Math is fun, but it can be challenging!  So here are some fun ways to practice your math skills.

Every day you can challenge your son or daughter to use math in daily activities.

  • How much change will we get at the store if I pay with 50 reais?
  • How many kilometers is it from home to school?
  • If we drive 5 days per week, how many kilometers will we have traveled?
  • What fraction of the seats in the car are full right now?  (ex.  2/5 of the seats are full)
  • What fraction of the eggs are left in the carton?
  • While cooking, have your son/daughter help you measure the beans, rice, water and salt.
Here are some great games that help for the topics we're working on.
